where clever thoughts flow
Since late 2010 I've been working with Sealord, primarily on their internal communications but also a number of other projects. As editor and major contributor to Sealord's staff newsletter, The Catch, I identify, write and often photograph stories for the global audience. Other projects have included an advertising campaign, where I was 'fixer', coordinating the interaction between our staff talent, the business, the agency and the production company.
Sealord Communications Manager Alison Sykora says "Rebecca has been vital to the success of Sealord's internal newsletter. By finding the stories, writing the stories and taking some excellent photographs, she's ensured this publication is well read and receives great feedback from within our business and outside. Rebecca is able to work with a huge range of people and help them tell their stories - through the newsletter and specific projects she has delivered, particularly a Storytellers Toolkit to help our people leaders engage employees through our company's story and values."
I joined children's charity Purple Cake Day as PR Advisor three months ahead of its annual celebration on 1 March 2012. As well as quickly pulling together and implementing a communications strategy, I contributed to writing a new website, producing key information for local, national and international audiences and implementing a media campaign that attracted significant coverage (including more than 9000 cm2 in print media) and fundraising dollars. I also came up with the idea for the “Purple Thumbs Up” awareness campaign, which attracted the thumbs of high profile public figures, Crusaders and other sports people, and tv personalities, as well as members of the public.
